Henry Scott Holland

 Henry Scott Holland (27th January, 1847 – 17th March, 1918) was a priest,  theologian and social reformer. He was Regius Professor of Divinity at the  University of Oxford and also a canon of Christ Church, Oxford. He was born  at Ledbury, educated at Eton and Balliol college, Oxford, after which he  became a fellow at Balliol and then Canon at St Paul’s cathedral. In 1889 he  formed the Christian Social Union and in 1910 became the Regius Professor of  Divinity, a post he held until his death in 1918. He is buried at All Saints,  Cuddeston.
